Amy Lee Dominates Search Rankings

Evanescence’s Amy Lee topped Google’s most searched female metal artists in 2023 with 4,394,000 queries. Lee’s year included a North American tour with Muse from February to April. The band performed at major festivals like Sick New World and Welcome to Rockville. They then embarked on a European tour, featuring appearances at Rock am Ring and Download Festival’s 20th anniversary.

Lee and Evanescence continued their global journey with performances at Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival and an Australian tour. The year culminated in a record-breaking solo show at Brazil’s Allianz Parque stadium. In recognition of their impact, Evanescence received Rock Sound’s 2023 Hall of Fame award in November.

Floor Jansen’s Solo Success

Nightwish vocalist Floor Jansen secured second place with 2,331,510 searches. Jansen released her solo single “Invincible” and album “Paragon” in 2023. She also gained attention for her surprise performance as the opening act for Metallica in Amsterdam. On YouTube, Jansen was the most searched female metal artist with over 1,650,000 queries.

Tarja Turunen’s Continued Influence

Former Nightwish frontwoman Tarja Turunen maintained her iconic status with 2,152,163 searches. Turunen released the live album “Rocking Heels: Live at Metal Church” in 2023. She also debuted a studio album with Torsten Stenzel under the name Outlanders. Additionally, Turunen announced her third Christmas album, “Dark Christmas,” further showcasing her versatility as an artist.

These talented vocalists continue to shape the metal scene, captivating audiences worldwide with their powerful performances and enduring influence.
