With only a few days left until Eurovision 2024, anticipation is reaching a fever pitch. This year’s contest, set to be the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, promises to be nothing short of spectacular. Held in Malmö, Sweden, following Loreen’s victory in 2023 with “Tattoo,” the stage is set for another unforgettable event.

While Eurovision is renowned for its diverse musical offerings, Heavy Metal hasn’t always been in the spotlight. However, aficionados of the contest will undoubtedly remember Lordi’s triumph in 2006 with “Hard Rock Hallelujah.” Yet, did you know that the legendary Symphonic metal band Nightwish once flirted with Eurovision glory?

In a surprising turn of events, Nightwish threw their hat into the ring for Finland’s national selection process in 2000.
