Tuomas Lauri Johannes Holopainen, born on December 25, 1976, in Kitee, Finland, is a renowned Finnish rock musician, keyboardist, and the founder and leader of the symphonic metal band Nightwish. He is the primary songwriter for the band, composing both the music and lyrics. In addition to Nightwish, Holopainen has been involved with various other musical projects, including For My Pain…, Dismal Silence, Furthest Shore, Kotiteollisuus, Nattvindens Gråt, Sethian, Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus, Darkwoods My Betrothed, and Auri.
