In a recent interview with the band’s drummer, Kai Hahto, NIGHTWISH fans received exciting news about the upcoming album’s release date and what to expect from the highly anticipated project.

Hahto shared insights into the timeline for the new album, stating “I think it will be released sometime at the end of the year. The plan is to have the album ready by the end of February, and then record labels normally need at least 6 months to press the vinyls, etc. I would expect it to come out in late Fall.”

As the band gears up for this significant release, preparations are already underway. Hahto revealed, “We are currently preparing the videos for the album, and there will be three official videos and then lyric videos for most of the other songs.”

NIGHTWISH, renowned for their symphonic metal prowess, is leaving no stone unturned as they gear up for this significant release. With promises of multiple visually captivating music videos, the band seems poised to offer a mesmerizing and immersive experience to their audience.

However, NIGHTWISH’s future takes an intriguing turn as Hahto hints at a potential hiatus from live shows. Expressing his thoughts, he said, “If it [goes] well, I could play a couple more during this year. It would be nice, as the next NIGHTWISH album comes out later this year, to play maybe a couple of new songs from that album live as well because, at the moment, it looks like there won’t be any new NIGHTWISH shows in the next two or three years.

Described by keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen as the third part of a trilogy, the upcoming album promises to explore new musical territories while preserving the cinematic style synonymous with the band’s recent work. Holopainen teased surprises and thematic elements that expand beyond the evolutionary science explored in their earlier releases.

While the album’s title and specific release date remain undisclosed, fans can anticipate NIGHTWISH delivering a project poised to make a lasting impact. Stay tuned for further updates as the band reveals more details about this remarkable addition to their discography.
